Six people, linked to one another

The artists first shared their works, then reinterpreted what they had found in someone else’s piece. The red line traces that chain of reference.

Bae embroidered onto fabric the lyrics of songs the grandmothers sang while they worked; the many colours of thread point to how beautiful and precious that labour was.

The work reveals the labour hidden behind the food on the table. Lyrics printed on transparent OHP film wrap around the gallery wall: a quiet solidarity that does not disappear.

In Kahee Bae’s tulips he saw how anything deemed valuable is used and then discarded. His photographs return to what has been left aside — and stand with it.

To avoid being swept along, he spends time slowly and inefficiently on purpose. Knitting — slow by nature — lets him feel time passing in full.

Thinking of Jaewon Hwang’s work and the theme of slowing down, she scaled her usual installation back to a single piece meant to be savoured with intent.
